God, I hope I'm doing this right. Been riding motorcycles since high school. At age 68, that's more years than I want to count. Picked up a used E-Ton Beamer. Guess it had to be used, since ETon closed it's doors about 5 years ago. At least that's what I see on the web.
I'll start off with one simple question: If, while running the 2 stroke engine with full choke, I see blue smoke from the exhaust, does that indicate that the automatic oil injector system is working? Without choke, it runs clean. Last time I had a 2 stroke, it was add gas, add oil, shake and serve. My '83 Goldwing doesn't smoke when choked. This is a 2005, with less than 2000 miles.
As a side note, (if you're bored, and want to keep reading), this scoot is not what I was looking for. I wanted an old beater that I could throw on the trailer, with my kayak, and use it to shuttle myself between launch point and take out point. That way I don't need a second person with a second vehicle. This scooter is much nicer than what i was looking for. I got it last night, rode about 9 miles to get it home, and put another 10 miles on it today, and ya know what? I kinda like it.

Do you have a picture or two to share ?
Normally the carb has a auto-choke(enrichener)system. Its works as shown in video below.
I am wondering if you carb is stock or been swapped for something else.(aftermarket)

Some of the E-Tons have a manual enrichment version of the stock carb. I've worked on a couple of Beamers and the manual version seemed more effective than the standard auto style. If you're seeing grey smoke, there should be oil in there. If you just got it, at least check the reservoir and make sure hoses and cables are intact. Could also be that someone has pre-mixed it, though most mix ratios will smoke a little all of the time with pre-mix if it's not lean.

90GTVert, I had every intention of taking a close look at everything. Checking to see that the oil pump was working. Checking the air filter, gas filter. All the recommended stuff...BUT, I can't get the bloody plastics off the darn thing! (Hope the image actually worked.)When I turn the remaining bolt, I believe, the entire threaded insert is turning. Hope the pic is clear enough to see the insert that I'm referring to, where the removed bolt would be. Gonna try to find, and try to use an impact drill, to see if that will work the bolt out. Otherwise...if anyone has any bright ideas, I'd love to hear 'em. This view is looking down, just aft of the already removed seat.

Try tapping on a smaller "standard" socket to reshape the head of the bolt. If you get the socket on the head of the bolt you can try tapping it and turning it at the same time to loosen. If it moves, give it a shot of oil and work it back and forth(tighten/loosen) to help free it up more. This tool worth owning for bolts like this.
