I’ve never seen this, I went to check my oil, ran the bike for 1 min and took off the oil cap. when I did oil spewed out everywhere.
So wtf I thought. Maybe too much oil in there already. Started searching. Found a thing about the breather line from the head cover and how if that one gets pinched it can prevent the pressure equalization in the case and cause this prob. No way I thought. I looked, sure as day The heat must have weakened that hose and it was totally pinched off. I need a new thicker piece of hose.
Question is, did I find the cause of my problem? I think I did but I’m not sure. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks!

Yup. That will do it. Check your crank seal for leaks now.

i think i got lucky. both sides of the crank shaft are dry. I figure I'd see oil on the inside of the CVT and/or on the case of the timing cover. when it shot oil it had some pressure, so maybe those seals were doing their job. I'll keep an eye on it.

Yes that happens a lot , most of the time it is operator error . People will remove the seat to do a tune up or change a plug and reinstall the seat bucket on the vent hose , they loop the hose over the seat stud and put the bucket on and tighten . It just pisses you off when it's on the rack up high and you open the dipstick tube and poof oil all over your shirt !
