my gear ratio is stock i believe. Ive never fooled with them and i dont think the original owner did any work to this scoot.

The reason i asked is because the shorter the gear ratio the easier the front will come up with power alone. I run OEM gears in those vids but they are a 13.5 ratio. If your scoot has say a 11.?? overall GR it will take much more power and or torque to do that.

The Tritons tend to be roughly 10:1 stock. Deeper gears make a huge difference for launch... but the long gears in the Tritons are sure nice for cruising and top speed.

So the stock tritons are which? Im looking for top speed-should i think about getting a different set?
Update: i just wanted to let everyone kno that my l.vince tt will be here on monday and he sent me some free c.f. reeds cuz he sold his zuma too. That leaves me in a pickle cuz I have a leak past the crank seal behind my vari, which ive been noticing that im gradually losing power . I dont wanna put a pipe on and aggrevate the situation....patience, just be easy! Do the right thing and wait for the seal to come in..i tell myself.

Your stock gears should be good for speed.
Definitely fix that seal before anything else.

Today is monday and when I got home from work I noticed a box on the porch. My leo v. pipe came! And that guy wasnt lying when he said it still new. he said he took it around the block and took it off. musta been a short block! He also threw in a set of new polini carbon reeds. how much are they worth? should I try em out?
I wanna mount the exhaust for pics. But if I do that then I'm gonna wanna hear it! And once I start it and hear it I'm gonna wanna take it for a ride n feel it! But the last time I was out, power was down drastically cuz of my seal problem. Hopefully scrappy comes through on wednesday or thurs. Either way I wanna be back on the twist saturday, so I can begin to successfully tune the s.o.b. I blame myself for ruining the seal somehow while I was driving around with that pulled stud and leaky head gasket. Thats why im gonna put the tt on hold.

leo pipes tend to rust up quickly so while you are waiting you could put some vht flame proof paint on that pipe

I was gonna put some header paint on her after the clear burnt off. But I put the tt on yesterday and ran into a few snags. It was intended for a zuma. In order to make it fit on my triton I had to space the mount 3/4 -1" and put a mallet to the inside and dent a small section to clear the back tire. Also had to cut the ball end off the center stand spring holder cuz it would hit and rub the pipe. But it fit. So It wasnt a waste of money. Surprisingly it has a real deep, smooth tone that seems weirdly quieter than stock at times. sounds good at wot. Picked up a lot of top speed too. I can only imagine what an expensive pipe would do!!
