I think he just wanted it gone and I was the first person that came to mind. That little commuter scooter I parted out before came from the same group of guys. They all share an apartment at UCLA and they all have scooters. I'm guessing maybe the management told him to get rid of it and he knew I'd take it away. I suspect his parents originally paid for it so he really didn't take a financial hit by giving it away. That's my theory anyway. He said he'd look for the keys and the pink slip. I'm gonna keep bugging him about it cause if I can get it running good I can sell it for somewhere between $750-$900 if I have the title and the key will save me a lot of work changing out the locks. I remember the tail light doesn't work but I can fix that easily I'm sure.

That is a good looking scoot. I've been storing one for years in the garage getting in my way and the owner doesn't want it and I can't even get that for less than somewhere in the $400 range... and it's not as nice as that. You suck! Kidding of course. Congrats!

Just received the new lock set from Scrappy and the key switch was faulty. I hooked it up and the fuse blew immediately twice so I unplugged the new switch, disconnected the neg battery wire, installed a new fuse and reattached the neg wire to the battery and the fuse didn't blow so that's when I knew it was faulty. I cursed for a minute or so and after some rational thought I ended up removing the guts from the back of old key switch and putting them on the new one. (4 screws) Issue solved! I don't blame Scrappy. How are they supposed to know if an electrical part is bad? So the lesson here is: Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good.

Good call on the ignition! Ide have spent a week figuring that out! I bought that same lockset for a scoot with no troubles. But it sure is good to know that there may be a problem with one before i find out there is a problem with one lol?.. Thats an easy $5-600 paycheck. At least :wtg:

I'm gonna set the price at $1050 OBO Robert. I'm still waiting on the pink slip.
Today I bought new brake pads front and rear and installed them. The rears went on easily but the front ones were too thick. They wouldn't spread apart far enough to slip the caliper over the rotor. I ended up placing the wear surface flat against the side of my grinder to wear 'em down some. After a few trips back and forth to the grinder they eventually fit. They still drag a lot but I figure after a few hard stops and some miles they'll wear a little more and be fine. Anyone else ever have pads that were too thick?
Another thing that concerns me is the front wheel. It makes noise in the bearings when you spin it so I'm thinking I might swap the rim with the one I got off that 50cc long case Verucci but I'm going to shoot some grease in there and see what happens first.
