You could check your squish and compression and see if it were possible to drop squish/raise compression a little for some kind of boost.

If there were any way to know ahead of time the width of different drive belts I would suggest buying the brand that is the widest. Maybe someone has advice as to what brand that might be. That alone could net a 2-4 mph gain and would be the easiest mod. The gains would, of course, diminish as the belt wears. Placing an extra 0.5mm base gasket or two while removing the same or possibly an extra 0.25mm from the mating surface of the head could get your port durations up for higher revving. Finding a decent used performance (expansion chamber) for around fifty dollars is another easy option.

Gates makes a 788 18.1. I hate them because they kill takeoff so bad, but they're wide.

so between the wider belt, lighter vari weights and stiffer clutch spring i should be about 50?i just tuned my carb really well and that helps a lot.I just need a little more top end = )

Lighter weights and/or stiffer contra spring is the opposite direction you want to go. Slightly lighter weights might not hurt the top speed or a little stiffer contra might not hurt either. Top speed will not go up though.
