I got everything installed but its smoking like a wild fire. I've taken it apart the rings are good it apears to be leaking at the head and going on to the piston there. Any suggestions on getting that seal off or am I missing something else that could be causing the problem. Thank you for any help.

Can I double up on the head gasket? Do I need to shave the head? Do I need to do both? I tightened the 4 top nuts to 15 ft pounds the 2 side nuts to 10 can I go more if so how much. Or am I missing someting else. Please help me here I'm stumped.

Doubling up the head gasket would just make it more likely to leak I think. I'm not sure what milling the head would do? Do not go more than you already have on torque settings, because you risk breaking the studs or stripping something.
So it sounds like you think it's leaking at the gasket, not actually leaking at the head like a valve seal? If you aren't sure, look up in the top of the ports and see if there's fresh oily residue there. You'll need to hold the valves open to do this, but you can usually do tha tat least briefly just by pushing one the valve stem by hand.

The only reason I don't think its a valve seal was I tried the original head and it was still leaking/ smoking. But I will check that first thing when I get off work today. Thank you for the input any or ideas are welcomed.

If you've swapped heads, it shouldn't be the valve seals. Pretty unlikely for seals in both to leak, and you woulda had this trouble before the BBK if the old head had bad seals.
Are you using new head gaskets every time? Surfaces clean?

Surfaces cleaned. I used a new gasket the first and second time with the new head but try both those gaskets again with the old head. I'm waiting on another gasket from scrappydog now. Both the gaskets I tried seem thinner than the original.

I used a very thin coat of "The Right Stuff" or Ultra Black RTV on a head gasket that had trouble sealing before. It makes cleanup more trouble, but it might do the trick if nothing else will. Again, if you try it, very thin coat on both sides. I wear gloves and smear it around and remove any excess when coating gaskets.

Thanks a lot I will give that a try. I didn't know how safe it would be using a sealant on a head gasket. I'll let you know how it works out. Again thanks a lot for the advice and your time.
