I had a 1971 beetle in the early 90's and when the house my girlfriend lived in burnt down there was a picture of it in the local press saying car damaged by fire. It wasn't that was the state of the car after previous owners had painted it in different colours of hammerite paint 😊

Mine was a variety of colors; red, brown & gray primer, flat black, etc... When I got it it was chopped up from accident damage and being used as a float toy in a farm pond. I converted it to a baha bug.
