Looking to buy a scooter

I'm a newbie to the scooter world and beginning to look for a scooter to buy. My question is: "Is there such a thing as "the fastest 49cc on the market?"
I'm looking for something that'll do 40-45 mph easily.

There really isn't a 49cc scooter that will to that fast, they restrict the cvt by putting a washer so the belt can't travel all the way up the variator. Also there are restricters in the exhaust. I have a 05 zuma and I love it!

You definitely want to go with a two-stroke if you want the fastest 49cc. There are some that will do 40-45. 40-45 easily, then you narrow it down. Some of the minarelli/1E40QMB powered scoots can do 40-45 unrestricted. I wouldn't call it easily just because you can't depend on those speeds to cruise if you've got to deal with hills or headwinds in most cases.

I think if you want 40-45 easily you'd need to get one of the more rare 2Ts that will likely cost you a bit more. Something like a Kymco Super 9 or Aprilia or Derbi.
