I just picked up an Eton beamer 2, there was a clear gas leak from the carb area. After a thorough carb clean and reassembly I noticed it was leaking towards the top of the carb at the throttle cable screw in connection. Never seen an issue like this before. Its spewing out the very top.
If you can shed some light on a solution I would appreciate it. Not sure if anyone has seen this before. Not sure how to remedy this as buying a new carb likely wont fix the issue since the throttle assembly cable is separate from the actual carb.

It seems to be oozing out of the brass colored area between the two screws that secure the throttle cable into the carb.

Have you taken the assembly off to have a look? A lot of carbs have an o ring under there. It might be damaged. If you brought a new carb, it should come with the whole assembly.

That kind of carb usually has a big paper gasket that fills almost the whole underside of the cap. As aeroxbud said, check for tears in it.
Also, if the brass part spins easily/is wobbly, it might need to be expanded back out with a punch to make the fit tight again.

I have taken the throttle assembly off as a whole piece in order to clean out the carb. However, I did not disassemble it at all, never had a leak in that area in the past so I didn't think much of it. It is the original Mikuni carb, I do however have a few new carbs laying around so I will probably swap out the assembly.
I initially thought the float needle wasn't sealing properly, but it looks fine.

The carb overall seems very healthy, the only thing i mentioned swapping out is the throttle bracket that screws into the carb with the two screws. Doesn't seem to need a full on rebuild. Hopefully that stops the leaking.

Update: I got the solution, After closer inspection tonight, I noticed the gas line had a small tear near the carb connection making it seem like the carb was leaking at the throttle. Snipped off about a half inch of gas line and re-connected.
All is well, thanks to everyone that responded.

Cool you should change the fuel line and the vacuum line when you get a change be for they leave you stranded someplace ..
