...................................Will removing the cdi limiter and/or variator limiter negatively impact the reliability of the moped or miles I could get out of it? Certainly it will, slightly, but you wanna go faster dont ya? Lol! lol. Yeah I figured it would have some side effects! Just wanted some direct clarity in that area. But yeah some extra speed seems worth it. I think i'll order the variator without the limiter.

Removing the rev limiter your bumping the rpms up about 1500k. The stock carb and exhaust will still hold you back from higher rpms. The stock bore is not putting much stress on the crank. Id say you will shave a little life of the crank
If you go big bore and revving higher then yeah crank life will be a lot shorter.

Much want here. I got over 30,000 miles from mine, and you should too! I would take another on as a project. Currently 4T, and miss 2T. Good luck with it This one is around 8400 on the odometer right now. I'm in wisconsin so fewer months to be ridden. That's kilometers not miles, yeah?

No, MILES not kilometers. The odometer is/was in km., but I can flip the math back and forth in my head. First engine rebuild at 13K miles, second at approx. 21K MILES. Kept the modifications light, garage-kept, and the factory oil injection never failed me. Best $1000 transportation I've ever spent.➕

BTW, if you were driving 38 MILES per hour on a grouchy, rescued ZX 50 2T, please reveal your secrets➕❕☺

I think it was serviced in spring of 2018, this guy just didn't take care of it or know how to and made it look like garbage. 38 is the stock limited speed though from what I've read. There's even a sort of arrow on the speedometer at 38. Rear brakes are sticky.

gsx600racer : It was ten years ago, but as best I remember, the only modifications to my ZX 50 were: 1. Remove rev limiter wiring at CDI. 2. Less restrictive exhaust, for performance, not noise. 3. Rejetted carb. 38 - 40 mph top speed with 2T torque met all my needs, given the traffic, small roads, and the attention law enforcement gives to scooters locally. (If the police see you going over 30 mph on a scooter, you can be busted for driving an unregistered, uninsured motorcycle. Game over!)

If so, did yours have a restricted drive boss ?

So uh, my seemingly stock zx50 does 45 to 50 mph on flats all day long I think, it's been awhile since I've last gone in a nice ride unfortunately... anyway it eats up hills no problem... although it doesnt go faster than 50 downhill because it revs out of the powerband I think. I've only derestricted it... as far as I know it is stock otherwise o.o considering this major margin I will get GPS along with GPS topspeed on the Super 9 also, its speedometer goes up to 60mph
