What size is that new carb, 28mm or 30mm? Do you know what it was made for? (scoot, go kart, atv) It's a 26mm (old one is 24mm). Isn't 28-30 a bit over-sized for a 150 GY6? There are no performance mods other than a very un-restrictive exhaust. Not sure what the carb is off of - bought it from jbjhillbilly who is somewhat of a liaison between his mechanic and the scooter community So I don't know.

Maybe a throttle cable from one of these scooters could work. Their carbs look very similar to yours.

Small tubing is fairly available. Brake lines, plumbing parts, brass tubing from a hardware store or hobby shop. I have used them all to make several styles of cable ends. Cable ends of the type I see in your pictures can also be purchased from automotive parts stores. They are used for carb choke cables and are threaded for a set screw to hold the cable. I have also used threaded spacers used in computers to hold circuit boards for cable ends. Cut them to length, then cross drill them for the cable, and thread in a screw to hold the cable.
I have also fabricated new brackets from hardware store corner braces to solve fitment issues.
