I have a design for a fairly simple template ready to be printed. Does anyone here have a 3D printer and the time to print something for me?
Perhaps there is a place you know of that can do it for me, cheaply? Thanks in advance!

Yeah they are pretty inexpensive around $200 for a reasonably rated entry level unit. I just dont feel like building a typical chinese KIT, and then there is the learning curve. I just can't invest the time needed to get up to speed on yet another technology. FreeCad was hard enough on the brain just to get the piece designed. Doing research on 3D printing, I saw where they can now produce metal parts and exotic material parts with special high$$ 3D printers. AMAZING!

Here is what I am trying to get printed. dimensions are 120mm x 120mm I am impressed with those self taught drawing skills. I had to go to school to learn 3D, but that was 20 years ago.

Pretty sure cad programs are easier to use now than they were 20 years ago. And I know they are easier to use than they were 30 years ago, because I had a copy of autocad and could not do anything with it! I used to open a drawing of the space shuttle that came with it and watch it load for 5 minutes.

Figured I would just go to my local library if that need ever presented itself. Might be fun just to play with it regardless. 3D printers

Check with some of the Maker Fairs around. They usually have exhibitors that will print designs.

I haven't looked into the details in about a year, but I recall there was an open project where if you could get access to a 3d printer you could download the "blueprints" to print about %90 of the parts for a diy 3d printer with much larger print area then you'll get with a kit

link I think emachineshop does 3d printing. im sure its pricey though. I looked into having a gear made for my final reduction, as there isn't much out there for my scooter. it was going to cost between 3-5 hundred depending on material, and chamfer options

Casting pattern perhaps. When you do find somebody with a 3d printer, you may want to show them the drawing as well and discuss the use. May help determine which filament lines to use, or if it may need a dual filament style for multiple materials. Theres also an option to include inserts - like if you have a steel/aluminum core, you guys would need locator points programmed in and set up a pause routine for when the core needs placement.
Keep asking questions, you'll be surprised what you learn!

Then I will run a router using the template as a guide to open the cases up so larger bore cylinders will be able to slide into place.
