Nice!Looks like you've cut the ports down to match the piston dome at BDC..Can you walk us through removing the nikasil without chipping?I know the factory tuners have the nikasil stripped, then port, then have it recoated to maintain the lap into the port ducts..Their pocketbooks are a bit deeper than ours though! I always viewed the Honda cases as wanna be rotary valve motors, looks like a good candidate for a MX jug swap with a spacer and long rod..

Yeah and raised the exhaust port.
I used diamond Burrs. I did not notice any chipping at all, the nikasil is extremely tough and seemed to be bonded well to the aluminum. I think using a sharp HSS or Carbide you may see chipping as they bite pretty hard
I could tell when i hit spots of nika in the ports the burrs did remove it albeit slowly
I have 2 long rod cranks built up for just an experiment.....

I liked the video. one thing I saw was on porting the intake track. I agree with you, if using stock style reeds, that outer area is kind of a dead spot, however with a ct style intake, I like to port that area deeper and radius the walls to the floor. because with the ct intake and V style reed block, the outer side closest to the variator cover, is really choked if not. but I guess it depends on the style of intake used on the build. great video though. im gonna have to look for a dental grinder. great resourcing of tools made for another job to our hobby or skill set. its gotta be a whole lot quieter than the air Dremel and the constant cycling of the compressor to build up air.

Yep like I mention in the video, that is a pretty mild port. Can definitely go bigger in every direction.
Where it radiuses you can pull that back, but the reed stoppers kinda mean that the reeds on a CT won't open much past that. I think 3d printing a small stuffer to go in there would be ideal.
Yeah the handpiece tool is pretty nice. It does require cleaning and lubrication, but even if I had to replace the drive end every time (25 dollars) I think it would still be worth it. It is so much quieter and my hands don't go as numb as fast.... and I am sure if you got a nice high end one it would be even nicer.
the 90 one is finicky and finding the proper latching d bits is a pain, but I just started super gluing bits in there after grinding a flat on it, you can still pop it out if it needs replacing.

while searching for obscure things like I usually do, I found this cool 1 petal reed on fleabay Italy, ive seen them by polini, and mallossi, doppler and stage6. I want to buy one, but im not trying to pay 40$ shipping. I get complete bbk shipped from there for that. also Italy ebay has some awesome exhausts that ive never seen here. the af18 equivalent in Peugeot is a speedfight 2 or 3. check it out if you haven't chosen an exhaust for this build yet. I found a couple yasuni pipes for my af05 on there. not sure which I want though, z or r? or was it x? idk. good place to hunt scooter parts though. hard to get info though. I don't speak Italian...

Speedfight 1 and 2 are basically the same engine spec wise Speedfight 3 they drastically changed the cylinder... I don't know anything about those. or if anything from those fit.
Also they exhausts kinda fit, but they don't exactly have the same angles.. but close enough you can jam at it and git er done. Roost used to make a Speedfight 2 exhaust.

Wonder if the ZX pulley is hitting my Stage6 bell in my Gyro, I've lost a lot of speed since changing from a stock clutch/bell on a ZX pulley and Alba variator to a Stage6 clutch and bell with Malosi spring.
