Well parts arrived, removed track rod end went to fit new and they had sent the right part numbered box with the wrong rod in. Done wish bone had put the old rod back on to clear ramp for a later car. Only problem was had angle grindered the nut off. Out with hammer 🔨 and peen the little bit showing to hold in place and move car off ramp. Luckily it held. Hopefully finish tomorrow. 😊

The job's not over until you finish with the duct tape.

The right part has arrived but I now need a hub as tie rod up to full adjustment and still to much toe in. Luckily I have a car I borrowed to go the 100 miles to work at 03.00 in the morning.

Better to be safe than sorry. A bent/broken hub/spindle could ruin your day.
Make sure you replace those wheel bearings, they took a huge hit.
Did you get the wheel to spin true, or will you need a new one? Bent wheels cause unusual tire wear. I had an alloy wheel 'professionally' straightened that still caused bad tire wear. It also cracked one cold night and instantly let out the air in a McD's parking lot. Used wheels must be checked for runout since many are in the scrap yard due to wrecks or abuse.

Wheel has been pushed in a bit on one side on the flange. Will just need a bit of beating to level it out.

Tracking done the old way. Anyone remember the tracking tool before laser and other methods? Car now road tested and fine. Makes me a good environmentalist. First resurrected from scrap yard second time after insurance company wrote it off as uneconomical repair when it was hit by a van when parked and third time now before they even see it. 😊

The old mechanical method was used on several of my vehicles. I used it on my R-trike to align the front wheels.
