Im wondering, since my scoots original motor is the 1E40QMB long case, what modifications would I need to do in order to successfully swap in a 1E50FM short case? I've decided to buy a 90cc swap so I can work up a plan to get the 1e40q built and stroked. Im contemplating on purchasing the motor sarniascoot is selling because it is a brand new yamaha engine that fits my budget.
So far I've figured out that my 12in rear wheel prolly wont fit. And I may need a shorter shock absorber. Should I just continue to source a long case, or will this short case turn out to be fine? Are there any differences in how the scooter will behave/handle due to a shorter wheel base? Is the exhaust mount gonna change?
2strokd- I think I remember you mentioning to me about a shortie working fine, but I dont think You went over the neccessary mods to do this...

I wouldnt do it in fact. I dont believe i ever suggested that.? Maybe a longcase in a short frame?
In fact, if that is a real genuine Jog engine,? the mount bar is different (C-clips are spaced different). The wiring is different but that might swap out or your other stuff? Like you said too, the shock mounting point is different and a 12in wheel wont work. If it fit?, you would never get a taller profile to match your front. The scoot would end up handling different and IMO its just not worth the hassle.
It can work, but is it worth all that and whatever i forgot? That is the question you have to ask...
