Youtube MicBergsma aka Mitch's Scooter Stuff documents a throttle modification for a 2T Yamaha Zuma. The carburetor slide is limited to 2/3rds of its output potential by limiting how far the throttle cable can pull it open.
I was wondering if anyone noticed this on other models. I can't find much information about the carb itself online for Yamaha models, but I wonder if increasing the output from the carb puts the 50cc engine beyond its spec'd capability, even if the air/fuel ratio is correct.
Has anyone else seen or done this throttle control on the carburetor modification? I suppose this was only for 2T models that tried to reduce their overall power output. 4T models don't really have this problem since they don't have enough power with the same 50cc to even limit.

They keep thinking of new ways to restrict our toys. I'm sure the engine would be fine. It's designed to use all of the carbs fuel, then restricted. I suppose in a way it's kinder to the engine than restricting it at the variator. Letting it run at max revs everywhere
