I'm pretty sure that half the stator coils run the lights and the other half runs the engine so maybe the stator is faulty. Not sure if your scoot has one but some scoots have a ballast resistor for the lighting circuit. Damned if I know what exactly it does cause I suck at electrical shtuff. www.partsforscooters.com/Welcome?search=resistor

Nope. the stator is sometimes called a magneto. Same thing. On the right side of the engine is a fan. Behind the fan is the flywheel. That comes off to reveal the stator that generates the electricity and tells the spark plug when to start. Take off the fan cover. Then you'll see the fan and flywheel. Remove the four 8mm bolts holding the fan to the flywheel and you end up with this. The smaller coil on the outside of the flywheel is called the pickup coil. It signals the CDI to trigger the spark. Remove the center nut from the flywheel with an impact wrench. I use a 12 volt emergency tire impact from Harbor Freight $30. It runs off the scooter's battery. It winds up and then whack! Takes a few hits to loosen and I hit the nut 5-7 times to tighten it. You need a 27mmx1mm Left hand puller for a 150cc. Hold back on the puller with a crescent while turning the center bolt inward to pull off the flywheel. There's a little Woodruff key that locates the flywheel in there on the crank shaft. It will stay in the crank usually. Don't lose it! Now with the flywheel off you can see the stator. You'll need to order one exactly like it with the same number of coils and the same plug connector. Search "GY6 stator" Take a picture before you remove it so you get it all back in correctly. There's some stators here: www.pccmotor.com/ignition-stator.htmlAnd more here: www.partsforscooters.com/Welcome?search=statorHere's a video of the impact in action: www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&v=36CcufPuDu0

should i replace the flywheel at the same time? and is there a way to check this witha volt meter before replacing parts cuz im super broke lol scrappy dogs wants 40 for the stator and 30 for the flywheel

The only fuse is the little one by the battery. You would have no electrical if that were blown. I use the Arrow manual. The rest, what Fox said.

k i got the headlights working tail lights working brake lights working still no turn signals but i just need to get 8 bucks and go to scrappy to buy the new switch for that and im thinkin theyll work too. all i did was put my scoot on a car charger til its green lights came on and then when i went on a ride my lights were working and have been working since(yesterday) but today i was still dying while riding so i stopped by the scooter shop and the guy there let me use his tools to put my plug in it had a c8hsa instead of the 7hsa when i changed plugs it was running alot better i had a real bad exhaust leak and when i changed to new plug i wasnt backfiring anymore as before i was backfire really bad and alot and really loud like a lil 22 rifle n shit i saw some ppl duck down all fast one time when i was pullin up to a light lol. but anyways after puting the new plug in and buying a gasket for the exhaust cuz i think the leak in it is unadjusting my exhaust valve. but of coarse on the way home my exhaust bracket snapped shortly after i died and when i came to a stop i had lots of white smoke coming from valve breather and a lil bit out the end of the exhaust even tho it has the bad seal waited five minutes and it started back up riding home then ten minutes after riding i die in the middle of one the worst project neiberhoods in las vegas and had to walk it two miles to a gas station had people coming up offering to let me ride there bike to the gas station and theyll watch my moped for me lol and asking me if i was "looking for anything..." lol now ever since ive had this moped its had this problem where when it gets to half tank it dies what could that be? could the smoke n stuff be from bad piston rings??? my mom told me i was a loser and i need to get rid of the moped and get a car as if money grows on fuckin trees

We are getting back to the stator as far as the battery not charging, lights not working, getting dimmer while riding. You may want to get to that before your battery needs replacing too. Once they loose the charge one too many they won't take a ful one any more.

k my scoots been in the garage for 24 hours and i put the car charger on it to see what the battery was at and it said it had 100% full charge still so i think the stator is okay. now im worryed about this white smoke coming out my exhaust and vent breather. im gettin my exhaust welded today.
