That's a shortcase. How do I know? There are several little differences that the trained eye will see, but the easiest is to look towards the rear section. The gear oil filler cap is plastic and on top of the case.

also the long cases don't have a gear box plate inside the cvt the hole gear box comes off.

Some longcases do have a gearbox similar to the one there with the access plate under the CVT cover. These motors are weird and every time I think I understand their variations I learn that there are more. The dead giveaway for me on that auction is how close the axle is to the front of the engine.

The strengthening ribs on the inside of the case are different in the the long and short cases, but though I can look at the designs and know which is which it would actually be difficult for me to explain to somebody else. I'm weird like that!
