Oh my God. I knew I hated this little CH80, but I wasn't aware of how badly I hated it, that is until I tried looking for a set of rings! Seems that even though Honda made and sold the bike for 23 fugging years, NOBODY is selling parts for em.
I fond one set for 30$ but this guy doesn't have it like that. At this point I am willing to buy a set of used rings with life left em. The guy is on disability, and uses the scoot to get to his shrink and whatever, its his only way around.
I was hoping that maybe someone here had dealt with one of these sumbiatches, and could hopefully point me in the right direction. The bore is 49.5mm so its an odd size. The only affordable rings I can find with the same diameter is for a CB250/Jade259/Hornet250. Then I can't precisely measure the thickness, because not only is the engine assembled, I don't have anything to measure that accurately.
If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be forever grateful.....

Can you just hone the bore lightly and re-use the rings?

God no. They are gone. Like gone gone....
I hadn't seen this bike run, ever. I poured a table spoon of oil into the cylinder, clamped the blow by tube, and sprayed ether into the carb. After about 45 seconds of grinding, it puffed to life.
I let it warm up, wouldn't idle, got on, tipped it off The stand, and tried to go...wouldn't pull me, I only weigh 165 pounds man, and this bike wouldn't move. Its trashed. I may have to bore the cylinder anyway, but it looks really good. No gouges or scoring, hopefully I can just bottle brush it. And send it.
Found the part number for the rings, it is
13051-GE1-307
I may have found a set of NOS but the listing is strange. The main listing says NOS the details page says both NOS and Removed from bike with miles.....so yeah.

That part is around $25. That too steep?

After locating the part number. I've found a few examples and all are reasonably priced at ~20-25$. The head gasket for ~10 and add another 12-15 for shipping. Then a minimum of 4 hours to pull the motor, (again) tear it down (again) and replace the rings, and gaskets, reassemble (again) set timing (yup, again) adjust valves and reinstall the engine.
The parts are only a part of it. I'm in a hell of an uncomfortable spot, because I know the guy NEEDS the bike, but he is way less fortunate than most. I don't want to charge him too much, but I refuse to allow myself to be used or cheated. I was hoping to find the parts a bit cheaper, so his bill would be somewhat smaller.
I'm still at a loss as to how these things have been around for so long, but have shit for aftermarket. I mean, there has to a hundred brands for the GY6 type parts. But only real Honda parts for this. I guess nobody cloned the CH/CF 80. I don't blame them.
This bike was sent to me, from the pits of hell, with the sole intention to shatter my already fragile mental stability. I must have been a real son of a.bitch in a past life.

Why do you think the rings are shot? Many things can gum the rings up and rusted or corroded valves can cause low compression. Maybe just disassembly, cleanup, and tuning is all that is required.

I have torn it down, and the valves are sealed, the guides are good, and the rings aren't stuck. When together, exhaust removed you can hear the pressure hiss into the crank case. That and the oil smelled of a mixture of gas ether and ass. So yeah, they bad. I was hoping and praying for your suggestion to be right the other night when it was dropped off. Even with the can removed, the crank being turned by hand is easy, with the slow hissing of leaking gases. The oil being tainted with gas and ether was the major selling point of the idea.

Width and thickness, I figured as much. This thread was my Hail Mary. I was just hoping one of you more experienced cats had been there done that with these things, and knew a source for them. I've found some that may fit this guy's budget, but I won't know til tomorrow. Its odd, really. I can easily find over bore rings for this cylinder, hell all the way to 4th and final .5mm. My biggest reason for posting this was to not only vent. But also hoping someone would know the numbers for thick ness, width and or have a source for aftermarkets. The NOS Honda sets are at the edgof this dudes.budget. Was seriously hoping to find a less expensive method. 25$ doesn't sound like much to most people. But when you live on ~640-700 a month, after rent and utilities, things get tight. If nothing else, I can have side sign a payment plan, but that is after I make a key, and plant one of my stripped down GPS phones in the bike.....sigh.

Ask him for something to hold... Like a pawn shop. Sounds like it wouldn't have to be worth a ton. Dunno.

One can always hear escaping gas even with good rings due to the ring end gaps. It gets worse if the gaps are aligned or positioned badly.
I am going to try Total Seal rings on a future 400cuin V-8 build.
One should always collect 100% for parts at least, then collect for the labor on delivery.

It looks like different years use different rings. Probably why not many places stock them. what year are you looking for?
