I just fill my 50cc scooter with gas, my grandkids road it for less than an hor and now it is emty. any ideas whats happening?

well lets see i get about an hours worth of scooting out of the tank on my zuma
it could be a few things it was layed down and some leaked out
it has a leak in the fuel line
or if it was filled up the night before the petcock could be stuck open and you have a leaky needle seat

An hour is a long time. Next time you fill it up make a note of the mileage and then look at the mileage when it reads empty. Bear in mind you burn some waiting for lights and what not.
Another thing you should realize is the fuel gauges are not always accurate. Some will say 1/4 when you actually have 1/2 tank.

If my fuel gauge reads 1/2 tank you will be pushing it to the next gas station! It's totally messed up so I don't even trust it. But I used to have the same problem with excessive fuel consumption. I had several holes in my tank.
