It should get a steady supply of fuel while it's running with a properly operating vacuum petcock, so that being modded is not a problem for tuning.
It's not gonna run right without the snorkel without re-tuning the carb. I had to go about 10% larger on the main jet without the snorkel on Project 90.
I try to swap main jets all in one session if possible so conditions stay the same. I don't like wondering if wind or anything else is swaying results. It's also easier to feel any changes when you just tried the last jet a few minutes ago.

Okay, so the guy I got the pipe from sent me some stuff he got for his zuma after he sold it. He gave me a good deal so i got a stage6 soft torque spring, some stage6 rollers and pill springs. First thing i tried was the softy spring. And with my stock vari and 5g sliders, takeoff felt fantastic, and from 40 to 50mph it was real torquey. but midrange was really lacking.
Since then I put my stock contra spring back in and went with 3 rollers that came with the pipe and three rollers outta the stage6 kit. So i got 4g's and 5g's in my vari totalling 27 grams. I immediately felt my midrange come back and I even gained some top speed. Midrange still aint right, but lots better.I got a max of 52mph. So I still may order a new torque controller or rear pulley, But I wanna experimentwith lighter rollers. I think I may join the crowd that believes rollers over sliders. At least until I find that right combination. If I had sliders in 4g or 4.5g I might change my mind. But rollers are cheaper and easier to tune a cvt with for sure.

Hey, Vert- I put that yellow spring in that u sent me last night and I was amazed how much of a difference that thing had! I only went for a 20 minute ride and being able to accelerate just as much as a car from a stop is a good feeling. getting close to another goal accomplished.
Drove the scooter to work this morning and I think I may have to try different rollers yet again. I didnt have my garmin out, and the other cars may have been speeding, but I may have lost a few mph on top. Gonna try a slightly heavier weight. Is that usually how it goes when going to a stiffer contra?

Yeah, you need more roller weight to counteract the stiffer contra.

Yes I believe I've ran across reading that a few times- but I understand that is true up to a certain point. And I can see why.
I wonder how much more rapidly belts wear because of this change....<maybe a higher quality belt can make up for the added pressure>?
