hey guys. how hard would it be to take my stock 49cc and make it go 50mph?? without boring out the motor. or maybe i would have to bore. it cruises around 30mph flat and some times 35 if no wind lol just wish i could hang with traffic on some of the roads around my parts.

If i would bore or get a bore kit would the scoot go faster as in top speed or just get to my top speed faster? I thought maybe i could do some cvt trickery to get a couple more mphs

what is your end goal? --just 50mph? how do you want the bike to perform?
sometimes it is not as simple as just installing a Big Bore Kit. I once bought a Chinese BBK from a local shop but it could not go past 35mph no matter whatI did to the CVT. it ended up being a 70cc "economy" bore that couldn't rev up due to low duration of the exhaust port.
I have tried the 47mm Malossi cast iron sports kit. that kit should get you to 50mph.
a friend of mine has a Polini Contessa on his bike. his bike ran similar to mine when I was running my Malossi bore. the Contessa should get you to 50mph. I think the Polini kits come with a main jet.
you're going to end up having to tune the carburetor and the CVT (rollers, clutch springs, and contra spring). and you probably will need a different exhaust pipe too.

Sorry to be the ball buster but I wouldn’t bother. I think there is too much tuning involved that it will be more of a headache for you. A well running stock scoot with all maintenance parts in good condition should net you 40. Just run what you have.

Hahaha i was just curious on what it all involes. I definitely want something reliable. But i am getting bored with the speed im at. Struggling to get 35mph and all the roads around me are 35 and above.

Just curious what it all involes. I see alot of fast scoots and it looks fun to blast off of a red light and leave traffic behind. Also hang with traffic.

Not true. I have a 47mm BBK daily driver, I just change oil and adjust valves. Sometimes I clean air filter.
Has 13.000 km on it so far, no issues. Stock exhaust, stock carb. Enough for that 47 BBK. Even stock head, sinde it has big enough ports. Just used the crank what came with kit.
I use this scoot mostly daily and for pulling our trailer.

There is no such thing as plug and play I'm afraid. Even two bikes with the same engine will never be the same to set up. You are looking at a BBK, then a carb, jets, rollers as a minimum. Then you might need different clutch springs, contra. Then possibly a gear up kit. You could always try a 50cc sports kit. Some will give you an extra 2 or 3 bhp. You will still need to increase the main jet. And for best results get a good sports pipe.

As stated above, its never plug n play. Theres fixits you can -tune- on your 50 2t. A decent majority of 2t stock 50's have some untapped potential to see an average 40 with some favorable 43's. They're just "factory designed" (read as "restricted") to keep factory bikes within epa and dot laws. A bigger carb, removing airbox restrictors, cvt restrictors, clean and inspect the exhaust pipe, learn how to increase compression (piston to head squish, fresh rings, piston and bore cleanup), tuning tuning tuning...
