2018 taotao 50 I bought new that has 1500 miles now. I've changed the oil and gained access to the carb screw and adjusted it how the guides and everyone said to do. A fuel line had a crack and I repaired that the other day. I've adjusted the throttle cable while it's warming up as well. Added about 1.5oz of seafoam to a full tank of gas the other day too. New petcock should arrive tomorrow I believe as I was kinda thinking that and it looked easy to swap out. Also I changed the spark plug the other day and it still will take running the battery down to just get it started, maybe.

I just finished reading your response to someone else's similar dilemma and watched the video there, is a valve adjustment as easy as that guy made it out to be?

That's exactly what it was, thanks so much. You have no idea how stressful this has been as well as the sense of accomplishment gained, coming from someone without some huge amount of automotive knowledge I thank you

sense of accomplishment gained That's what it's all about . . EMPOWERMENT! Developing an aptitude to troubleshoot various issues. The best thing is that you listened to the advice you got and had a positive result. I have seen a number of people not listen and chase their tails. Early on I was in that group. There are a lot of smart people here that can help you find a solution to your problems. There is also a wealth of information to help you learn how to do everything that you need to do.
