i have recently got this 2018 peace sports nightsky QMB139. i bought it brand new in the springt, and i have reached the 2,000 mile mark. i wish to get a 47mm bore out kit as well as a cvt upgrade to 1,500rpm springs maybe, or if you guys think i should go to 50mm instead, and get a better crankshaft or something. more or less i want to keep up with the rest of traffic (55 mph would be nice)

want to keep up with the rest of traffic (55 mph would be nice) You will NEVER be happy with those modifications! Instead of transforming the 50cc into a pile of excrement, replace with a Peace Sports 808-7G 150, or Lance 169cc.

Check Foremost. Big-bore installations provide additional TORQUE to maintain speed up hills and into headwinds, but very little increase in top speed because the belt drive ratio remains the same. Unbalanced rotational dynamics also enhance the odds of connecting rod and crankshaft bearing failure.

are you sure about that ? I know different states , different laws. Still you might want to double check. Here in FL.I can get it or not for my 150. If I don't have it I'm required by law to wear a helmet . If I have insurance I'm not required to wear a helmet . Please correct me if I'm wrong .

Welcome,55mph is possible but not probable without a lot a mods and will kill your scoot eventually. You need to reconsider your options I would buy a larger engine scoot to get there, but in the meantime do not ever ride a scoot without a full face helmet on,we fix scoots from here and even road rash but broken heads are a fail.

If you're trying to maintain 55MPH to keep up with traffic on a 139QMB, I can't see it being anything but a pain. Might go OK at first, even though that's high if 55MPH is cruise speed, but problems will come and it gets old quick if you were not expecting to seemingly constantly be wrenching on the scoot. If you just wanna ride for fun and see how fast you can go, then it's a different story.

Yeah, besides if you get pulled over for going over 30mph then the cost savings of just owning a larger bike are gone instantly.

yep he is right here in MI if your bike is over 100cc you need ins. and cycle endorsement. Also 50cc are limited to under 30mph even though I was never pulled over for speed (often 32-35 mph on my 72cc scooter).frank
