There are a lot of great motorcycle roads around there. My original plan was to go in spring or fall when it would be less busy. I was going to stay for 1-2 nights so I could explore the area more thoroughly and had a route planned that included some really twisty mountain roads and going past Three Mile Island to see that on the way up. I've said I was going to do that ever since I bought the TMAX and it never happened. The price of hotels kept dissuading me and I'm not a camper. At least this way it was just $35 in gas and a $0.75 can of Dr Pepper... and days of aching. Didn't help that I fell off of a berm in Centralia because I had the bright idea to climb up and try to look down over an edge. At least I fell off backwards and not over the edge. Anyway, it's Harley country up there. So many Harleys or big cruisers. So few helmets. I'd have to own a sport touring bike or something like that if I were in that area. My roads now all seem too straight. Even the highway that I was on in PA curved around some. Downside is that it seems more dangerous than riding that I'm used to. I showed one reason in the video with the poor visibility around turns, but there are also falling rocks signs and a whole lot of deer warning signs. I actually heard the TMAX spark knock too. I had been using 89 in it. It says 91+, but I've used 89 off and on around home without any issues. Not a good idea in the mountains. It had an area of part throttle that crackled. For anyone interested in Centralia, I would recommend checking these out : Centralia : Pennsylvania's Lost TownI've watched and read a lot of stuff about Centralia, but this would be my choice for anyone that wants to see what it's all about. It's very well done and covers a lot of stuff. Fire Underground : The Ongoing Tragedy Of The Centralia Mine Fire by David DekokThis book give very detailed accounts of pretty much everything that happened in Centralia related to the mine fire. The Town That Was A documentary about Centralia's past and what it was like in 2007.
