:dunno: Good morning guys and gals. I was working on a 150 gy6( a yamati strada).. I cleaned everything to try and revive it, Started beautifully, ran nice. I rolled it outside, cleaned the cvt, rolled it back inside, stuck the air box on, now it has no spark. :stumped:
It was running, started beautifully. I have checked the cdi, coil, stater, grounds. even swapped staters with a BRAND NEW and still nothing. Everything seems to check out fine according to the troubleshooting section by using a test light on everything. IDK if i should get the light to light up on the coil wires tho. I wasnt getting a thing from either side, but the coil is good.(tried a different coil, same issue).
I havent checked the regulater/recifier. Could that be my issue or do they only help with the lights. It was starting after turning over 2 times, now it wont hit at all. no spark. Does ANYBODY have any other ideas for me to check
Should the ground wire cause sparks when rubbed against the valve cover? EVER? I wouldnt think a ground should ever do that..
Also a very STUPID question, do this not have a kill switch like a 50? This one has the hi/low/horn on the left and the starter button and light switch on the right. Even has "hazzard" lights but no kill. :dunno: :stumped:
Everything i seen says coil wire, switch. Any ideas or should i just go ahead and strip the harness looking for a melted wire/broke wire or could it be the rectifier, regulater, ignition.
(yep, i was trying to make a lil extra $ to finish with my babys b-day party and now look). It's like turning a switch off, it was running great, 2 hrs later it wont fire, no spark..
Oh yeah, aren't you always suppose to have a nice blue spark on anything/everything?.. Cause i did get a very tiny spark, now nothing..
Thanks for ANY input on this head scratcher.. :stumped:
