Insurance is looking like it will be expensive. Include Foremost in your research. Have my golf cart ins with them. So far Foremost is the most expensive, $238.00/annual. And that does not include any uninsured motorist which I can link to my auto ins for additional $64.00/annual. Progressive came in at $123.00 but no uninsured motorist and no collision and theft. Going to be calling my agent who I have my 1969 Nova insured with to see what he can do.

Got the new scoot registered yesterday finally. A little more expensive than I thought but was not sure as this was first experience. Title fee was $73.50 alone. They also charged me additional sales tax, not sure why as I had paid Sam's club sales tax when I bought it. Need to go back to DMV for explanation. So all in all I paid: $111.80 for title and fees, plus $52.60 for new plate and tag. $164.40 total. Insurance is looking like it will be expensive. Getting quotes at over $200.00 annual. Although this is my first experience and it might be about right. Sounds about right. I've registered 3 scoots here in Pinellas County - 1 brand new and 2 used. Payed $140-$170 each time. The tax they are charging you is for the service/goods they provide - Sam's Club with the product and the DMV with the service of doing all that paperwork.

be glad i paid more than i paid for my scoot when i put it on the road. it was like 300 bux alone for the plate at the time. after reg tax and the sticker they got me for almost 600 bux and wasted 2 days of my time. and that was before i even got it running ugh. break it in and get used to it but if it was me id have the cam in there already and break it in the right way lol. and 200 a year for insurance doesnt sound bad. an old quote i got when i was in fl was about 30 bux a month but wasnt required so i said screw it and went without. so around 360 bux a year pry closer to 400 with the big payment every 6 months. be safe out there and enjoy your shiny new toy.

So I have a refund coming. Final cost to register came to: $130.85 Also talked to my other ins agent today and he got me ins with progressive for $70.00/year. I'm happy with that. Jim......
