ok here goes. I have a baccio speedy 50 less than 300 miles. I put on a pipe and open element air filter right away. I also changed the rollers and clutch and torque springs. Now then when i did the pipe I installed a 95 mj and movaed the needle clip all the way down. I also bought a bbk for the bike but havent had time to install it yet. the bike ran good for a week. I was able to hit 47 mph and was getting around 70 mpg. Now then I had to ride it in a down pour home from work (22 miles). I made it about 15 then she died. I got it home and figured i sucked in some water. I let it sit for a few days and then worked on it today. I pulled the filter off and cleaned the carb and drained the bowl. I started it and it rain great. I shut it down and put on the stock airbox. I figured it would be running rich. I started it and it acted just like when it died. would idle but not run at less the full throttle, and then just barely. I pulled the airbox cleaned it out and started it without a filter no issues. I put the open element on and it still would not run. I pulled it off and it ran good with no filter. I noticed their is a gas mist coming out of the carb throat. Dont know what the issue is now. I was told that (1) ith a 2t exhaust pulse the gas mist coming out of the carb is normal that is why all but racing apps use filters. (2) i probably fouled the plug when it got wet. I did pull the plug after I moved the clip back to stock position and it was good. dry and dark carmel colored. Maybe it just cannot burn the access fuel with the air filter on. I simply do not understand why this wasnt an issue b4 the rain incident.
