Last week I cold started my '03 Geely 50 and ran to the living room and back since it usually takes 15 seconds or so to get to where it isn't griping at me from being cold. Total trip was probably 22 seconds. By the time I got back it had started squealing and was getting worse fast. I gave it throttle and within about 5 seconds it shut off. Wouldn't start again.
I have been having issues with my starter clutch and it was acting up so I decided it probably bit the bullet and was squealing as the rollers were going bad. Rebuilt the starter clutch tonight and the issue remains.
When I try to start it, it turns over and has a squeal to it as it does so. It tried to catch a few times and almost started, but seemed like it just wasn't able to.
I was running a pre-mix, so it shouldn't have locked up idling cold for 22 seconds should it? I have heard the oil pumps don't operate when at idle. It was a weak pre-mix, but it had SOME oil in it and I was only gone from cold start for 22-25 seconds. I don't think I burnt a bearing or anything in that short of time, do you?
When I had the starter clutch out tonight I was able to rotate everything freely by hand. Did it too slow to see if I could detect a squeal.

Update, got it to start and squealing went away. I waited 3 days to post this and after doing so it fixed itself. Kinda like going to the bathroom after waiting 25 minutes since ordering food at a restaurant..... it always shows up when your gone. Hey, whatever works!
