hey all hoping somebody might be able to help.
Have myself a Yahama Vino 10K miles bought in new. Cranking along at 35mph and lately it has been bucking then goes fine and then it bucks and then fine and bucks and you get the picture.....
The dude behind the counter at my local Yahama dealer said I had water in the carburetor. So he suggested Star Tron and added the amount in Saturday.....but I still have the problem.
Took the seat-box out and was looking at the carb....I seen a screw and I am wondering is that the screw I turn to get the water out of the carb? The screw I am talking about is on the left-side of the scooter.....do I turn that and will water come out? I really don't want to bring it to the dealer.......
any help would be appreciated
thank gary

to the forum! Unfortunately, there's not a screw or anything to remove water from a carb. There's no water collection area in there or anything like that. If you thought you had water in the fuel then you could drain the bowl and drain the fuel tank and put fresh fuel in (and a new fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea at that point), but that's about it. If it were water in the gas, you'd probably notice it shortly after a fill up and it would likely subside shortly after the next fill up. Start out by checking the simplest stuff. It could be something minor like the spark plug cap getting loose and wiggling around so the engine misses. Make sure that's secure. While you're in there, look for anything else like lose hoses or wires/connectors.

They make a product called "Heet" that you pour into the gas tank and it removes the water. It comes in a little bottle that is for a car gas tank so you'll only need to pour in a small amount of it. You can get it at most any auto parts store. www.goldeagle.com/brands/heet/default.aspx

Thanks.......Well I tried to turn that screw and my guess it is there for cosmetics. It looked like a screw-head.....but it wasn't. I took the seat-box out again and, I did notice if the front are two-little clips (inner/outer), next to the spark-plug........One clip was loose (moved in n out easy) I took a needle nose and squeezed them together......put it back together and it seems to be running fine at the moment......Anybody have a clue what those two little clip thingees are? Could that have been the problem?
geez you have to take most of the plastic off just to get to the spark-plug. even that mount where i have the basket.....(I didn't mess with that) (garbage set-up)
