i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff430/1quikvento/Triton%20R4/newscoot.jpgSo I followed up a lead from c. list to a parts scooter a few towns over. The guy said it was a Viaggio with a 4 stroke, but what had me interested, was that a lot of the body parts looked like my triton. It turned out that it had the same 2 stroke motor that my scooter has, only in the short case version. The picture above was after I got it home and up off the ground for disassembly. The tail end was pushed up soo high from being in a rear end accident and the center stand was bent every which way imaginable preventing the back wheel from turning.Shock was bent, but the motor was unharmed,as was the wheels. After about two hours labor yesterday, I completely tore down a scooter for the 1st time. I got so many good parts that I can use, not to mention a good used short case 1E40QMB 2 stroke. I took the cvt case off and the clutch bell has the same jog90 stamping as the motor in my scoot. Which means I got extra cvt parts for my scoot with the same amount of splines, and teeth, and prolly has the 12mm wrist pin too! And it was super clean in there. The odo only read 1700 miles. Now I need to decide what I want to do with the motor... Ive always wanted a 70mph triton hehe....

The owner didn't know it was a 2T.... must have just seized on him from lack of oil and someone rear-ended him. :dunno: lol
I saw the ad, and it definitely seems like you got your money's worth in spare parts. Don't forget if there's stuff you don't want that's in good shape, someone else might be looking for it so post it up in the classifieds and get some money back.

The guy I bought it from acquired it from the person that was hit. He was an older guy that only had general knowledge of em. He said he didnt see where to put oil, so he thought it was 4 stroke. I couildnt find the oil jug either, so it was either damaged in the accident, or someone picked it off the bike while in his front yard.
Someone took the main jet outta the carb and either kept the bowl or flung it in the woods, but I would like to find a bowl and gasket for the carb, if you know a source..

What kind of carb is it? There's 2 types. A smaller one with a round bowl, or a Mikuni, which is slightly larger, and has a square-ish bowl. I've got at least 1 spare Mikuni.

Im gonna guess and say it takes the round bowl. It looks similar to my stock carb and I didnt notice any mikuni stampings on it.
Ill take some pics and post in the wanted section. Theres quite a few parts i need to post for sale or trade.

<Sigh> It actually breaks my heart to see a Zip in this condition. It just represents one more that can't find its way into my ownership!
