I have always wondered if there was a specific measurable increase or decrease when you move the position of the e clip on carb needles. For example if you are in stock position with the clip in the middle and you move the clip to the bottom would that be like going up 5 sizes jetwise or should I look at it as you getting all you can from the jet you have in there?

From my experience, it can have a large effect on the midrange that maybe someone could equate to a jet size change, but it has only a minor effect on WOT that probably wouldn't be a jet size.

Needle position only affects the mixture from about 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.

^^^^^this right here^^^^^ it does slightly overlap the main and pilot jets though.
