Hi I’m looking at a similar bike with a similar “no spark” issue. Would you be able to point me in the right direction? You can email me at neal (dot) friedant (at) gmail (dot) com It turned out mine had spark. So I never chased a no spark issue, but I'm glad to help and offer info where I can.

Im guessing some 80/85cc dirtbike one. I had a suzuki rm85 unit in my mb80 motor. Fits as is, but needed a 10mm thick spacer to prevent it from riding up on the inside of the reed cage housing.
Ill post some pics of it when iam home.

This guy seemed very happy with them. . 5 of 5 Like yeah man, 8 petals May 7, 2015 taco eater : Dingleberry ImmenHoffer from seattle, WA United States I put this on my MB5 and it added like 1,000 rpm to my top end. This thing is beautiful and will fit on your MB5 with the spacer they sell here. I have it tied into a VM20 and a Proma pipe and an HPI igniton and its AWESOME.

80skid79 that is the reed I used. And this is the spacer I used www.treatland.tv/plastic-reed-block-riser-for-hackers-p/plastic-reed-block-riser.htmI just had to enlarge the holes on the reed block to get it to fit. Once you get it in your hands you'll see what needs to be done. It's pretty simple process, use hondabond to help prevent any leaks when putting it together. Also be very careful when tightening with that plastic spacer, it'll crack pretty easily. Hope this helps.

That rm85 reed had the same bolt pattern, but needed a thick spacer.

This is a fully rebuilt MB8 motor with the balancer removed. 57mm Athena alu bore. V-force 3 + intake boot from a RM85. Mikuni TM32. The V-force bolts right up into the original bolt holes, but it's way taller so I had to fab a beefy spacer. Note, the MB8 motors had 7 rows of cooling fins. The stock MB5 cast iron unit had 5 rows, the high performance belgian version and the aftermarket bores had 6 rows. Fun fact: The police would count the rows to determine if you had been tinkereing with it. Plan was to graft it into a Puch maxi chassis. Had the Puch chassis hacked and welded up to adopt the engine. Some guy in Holland did it before and I wanted something the same Geez these pics are back from 2011 already. Wanted to do something like this guy.
