Hi guys. Just recently took off reeds on my 1e40qmb minarelli scoot. However, notice that the gasket paper under the reed is sticking on the crank side leaving some residue. Is that normal? M just scared to scrape it off and residue will drop down the crank. Any help appreciated thanks

Stuff some paper towels in the crank case before cleaning the gasket material up. Some use gaskets, some use sealant, some use both, pick your poison. I use sealant only and don’t have trouble with leaks.

What sort of sealant do you use? And is it not that difficult to prime off when due for changing reeds? Thanks for the advise

I used permatex ultra grey in my full engine rebuild. Still leak free and running like a monkey's uncle to an all you can eat banana buffet.

Cloth works for me stuff it baby lol if changing think about a 5mm space lift reeds up 5mm helps with flow but u wont notice by its self just let's reeds open more if your running reeds that dont need a reed stop plate would recamend boyson power 2 stage reeds I swear by them make for Easter tuning down low with small petals opening and full flap open when needed
