if this fan switch will work
to replace this one that doesn't-
OOOPS - my bad ; got an extra pic in here - don't know how to edit it out
this fan is only about 4-5 mos. old. about 3 weeks ago the knob /switch started getting real sloppy and wouldn't stay on the right speed. I took it apart to find the problem and ended up with a couple of small plastic pieces in my hand . this thing is so cheap I won't bother with it or try to get the same OEM replacement switch.
the switch from Amazon looks sturdy and has good reviews. if someone can tell me this is the correct kind of switch I'll cross my fingers and get it - even if I have to modify and fab a new mount/case /receptacle for the switch itself instead of using the small black box/case the OEM switch mounts in; even if I have to use a piece of wood.
I'm wondering if these connectors would work for the new switch or if I should solder the wires to the 4 terminals on the new switch.
both switches are 3speed 4 position switches
any input will help . thanks

Switch should work. I would just solder the wires.

Luckily jlol, you asked a question that is not so in depth. Switches are easier to understand. They are rated for the energy that can pass through them at max, so easy to see. In most countries, every electric device has the ratings embossed on it. You may see an amp rating, but not always. You will see "110 v", meaning 110 volt. You will also see a wattage number, "1000 W". Simply that means the devise is 110 volt powered and can uses 1000 watts max. (Watts = Volts x Amps) A few examples: My Dremel has listed: 230 v, 125 watt. (Thailand uses 220 volts) Therefore all components in this tool are rated for that, which includes the switch. My pivot fan is 220v, 50 W, 0.25A. That would be on high speed. So, when you need a part, simply give that rating, or take a picture, like I do.

That switch is labeled for 3A at 250VAC. More than enough for his little fan.

Hey , thank you guys for the input.now I realize more about " ratings "; thanks THAI. I got the new switch ; so now new confusion . I will try to explain ; better yet I'll post a video. I had already taken pix of model# , ratings etc. .
I really don't know if connectors are designated with ratings for AC vs.DC voltages either but the ones I look at don't mention much ; maybe at a manuf. website . anyway the ones I cut off look like the ones I see on Amazon and wherever. so Ill just try walmart today and if they don't have them then Lowes tomorrow

vid- the reason I might need to use the plexiglas is cause I don't know if I can stuff all those wires back into that little black box. www.youtube.com/

well, I got this far. don't know if you can actually see much. I got all the wires connected except for the ones controlling the different speeds.don't know which color is which speed and don't know any way to figure it out ; short of plugging it in and touching 1 wire at a time to a post on the back of the switch- and that's probably a really bad idea . thanks to google every search I do comes back fans for sale or ceiling fans or some other shit. tried Comfort Zone fans - nothing but fans for sale .no specs , no links to repair, tech or nada. I just used some crimp connectors I had.for the switch I soldered the one black wire and I'll solder the red, white, blue when I find out where they go- which post on switch you can see it pretty well if you click and click again on new image

Good job. Way better fixing something, than buying it again. 👍

Pictures are good BEFORE you take things completely apart so one knows how to put it back together...
BTW- My phone is out of order until I can get some connections fixed.
