OK I have done a few things to my cvt that was recommended to go along with the bbk. I have not had time to put the bbk in yet though. I did do what cvt stuff. 5g rollers, 2000 rpm clutch and torque springs. I am sure the bike will act different with the bbk but for now it will not come out of the hole at all. Is that from the mods I made or is there another way to get the tranny to grab harder and sooner.

So it's revving too high now? Clutch springs control the initial launch. If it's revving to high after that, the rollers need to be heavier or the contra needs to be softer.

it revs and almost feels like its slipping at launch. funny thing is that when its cold and i first take off its not that bad. as soon as it warms up it gets worse and almost feels like its slipping. Damn I have a bad wrist and those clutch springs were a nightmare for me to swap out.

the stiffer contra spring i put in made my 50mm bbk motor do that and i took it right back off. mine seems to be best with stock springs and 5.5g rollers. i cant remember at what rpm they make the most torque but Brent would know. whatever it is, thats where you want to tune the cvt to accelerate at.
in other words, you want the bike to accelerate all the way to top speed as close to the rpm where it makes the most torque as possible. do you have a tach?

i thought I would bring this back from the dead. I now have a tach and just ordered some new cvt stuff. As of now the scoot tops out at 43 mph on a long flat at right around 8000-8500 rpms. I know the new speedo is pretty accurate as well. motor is a 50cc 2t with basically a hoca pipe and polini reed cage with carbon fiber reeds at this point. 70cc kit will go in soon as well.

Never used the Hoca pipe, but the revs sound low for a piped 49cc. 8000-8500 is more like where it would usually peak with a stock pipe. I'd try some 4g rollers and see how it responds. Did you check the jetting when you did the pipe? If not, sometimes they need a larger main jet with a performance pipe. Are you still having clutch problems or did you get that straight?

i have a hoca variator and perf. clutch to install with 4g rollers. I got the one with the lightened clutch bell also. I have an 85 mj now. I will be bumping that up also when i put an open open filter back on it. I was having jetting issues earlier with a 95 mj open filter and this same pipe, but I think it was to much with the stock bore

I just tuned a 49cc with a mild pipe.. It ended up with 3.8g rollers and could have still went lighter.
