A friend of mine took this photo at B. Everett Jordan Lake, west of Raleigh NC today, 9-18-2011. We have a nice population of Eagles there. Its a big lake though so spotting them is not always easy. What interesting wildlife do you have near you?

Very nice shot of the eagle. We have a few local eagle nests, but rarely close enough for a great picture like that. This fella was on my front porch,

Hey Speedy, that picture is AWESOME !!!!!! Im a HUGE raptor / bird fan . Thanks for taking time to post this. Very nice ! :thumb: I live next to the Louisville zoo, so I get vultures and small hawks coming into my yard sometimes. Its really cool to see how the other birds react to them when they perch. One of my best wildlife moments was coming face to face wit a Bobcat in a preserve in Florida. It was a majestic beast. Beyond cool . . .

Youre welcome. my best wildlife moment was a vacation i took up in virgina. we went up the blue ridge parkway where it turns into skyline drive. there is a place up there i forget the name of it but we stopped and i noticed some deer in a nearby thicket like area so i thought i would get a picture. well i took a pic and moved closer then took another and before i knew it i was inches away from these deer. i laid down in the grass in this brushy like partially hidden area and they walked all around me. you could get about 6 inches away from touching them. they wouldnt let you touch them but they wouldnt run away either, it was so amazing. sadly the film got double exposed but the memory of that moment will last forever.

That is sad, but at least you had the moment. We had a whole hatch of large hawks practiceing in our back yard once, 3 of them flew in and lined up on the garden fence, practiced swooping in the yard...you couldn't make me run for the camera, I would have missed them. Rather have had the chance to watch.
