I have gone through 4 exhausts in 6 months. All of them snap themselves apart.3 from pfs, have all had the expansion chambers break off the bracket itself. One from scrappydog just broke the pipe off the flange at the exhaust port leaving the flange on. I am completely baffled. All the engine mounts are tight and all the C clips on the big pin are on place. Its a long case 1pe40qmb on a benelli x50 frame. Please help. I can not keep going through exhausts like this, its going to put me in the poor house. Thanks

are they all chinese imitation chambers or brand name tuned pipes like leo, yasuni etc? I had to remove the bracket off the stock chinese style expansion chamber and it only took a couple of whacks with a hammer, but it does sound like when you tighten up all the bolts alot of pressure is pulling on the joint between pipe and bracket, does it feel like you are straining it when you do up the bolts? got pics of the breaks?

Partsforscooters are taiwanese made, which are supposed to be pretty good. The brand was Hoca. The one from scrappydogscooters is hand made and I don't know the origin. Didn't really seem tough to me to tighten down. I have lots of pics, I'll try and add them tomorrow.

Buy quality once, buy knockoffs over and over

One thing I notice about both of those exhausts is that everything is welded solid. I notice that my Leo Vince pipes and my MRP pipe are setup with an adjustable mount that allows for some give. The mount would move or flex before the exhaust would crack. I don't really thinking the quality is terrible on either of your exhausts (although the scrappy pipe doesn't get good reviews). To avoid spending a bunch more money, if you have the Hoca pipes around still I'd try to find the one in the best shape and see if perhaps a new mount could be made. I don't think it would be that complicated. Either have a tab welded onto the pipe or maybe cut down part of the existing mount area so it's now a tab. Then make a mount that will connect that tab to the 2 mounting spots on the block. Bolt the mount to the tab, don't weld it. I think maybe then the pipe could give a little and you might stop having these issues. I will note though, I have a stock pipe and an aftermarket pipe that have worked just fine for a long time that have solid mounts. The stock pipe does have bushings on the mounting holes though, and I have to use an adapter to mount the other so that prob gives it a bit more freedom of movement if needed.

I really don't think this is a problem of quality. The scrappy pipe broke in 4days, that's nor right. I have contacted both companies and I am the only person to ever have this issue. The Hoca pipes broke within a week to three. BTW, its says uploads disabled, so how do I enable them? I'm using a phone to do this.

This is just my experience and may or may not apply to you, but I ran into a few problems fitting a leo TT onto my triton with a longcase 1e40qmb. Since the pipe was made for a zuma, I had to modify a few things for it to fit right. My rear wheel hugger or mud guard or whatever it is had to come off. I had to grind down the little nub on the end of the center stand spring tab so it wouldnt bang the pipe everytime I put it up. I had to beat the inside of it a lil to clear the tire.
I mounted it loosely at the cylinder first to check fitment. Between the y shaped mount and the motor I had over an inch of space. If your pulling that in tight to mount it, that could be your problem. I ended up using two auto engine block dowels (they keep the cylinder head lined up properly) as spacers cuz they were the perfect size. The pipe came with two spacers, but were way too narrow, and wouldve put unwanted stress on the pipe. U wanna mount it so it just kinda hangs, but dont rattle around or move. when you tighten the bolts to the mount, you dont want the pipe to pull itself in. bolt it to the cylinder and fabricate a mount system that'll work for exactly where its positioned when secured to the cylinder. I should see no reason for any problems unless your buying pipes for the wrong application.
