I am confused with a current problem on this put petrol in carb no start. Put petrol down air filter to carb pipe fires up till fuel run's out. I am stumped Carb has been cleaned thoroughly. Carb is being fed independent of tank. Vacuum line has been closed off. Things I noticed. Carb appears to not push all way into manifold and hits something on engine. Maybe wrong carb? Not any pressure on intake hardly when running. Air leak? Not sure of cylinder pressure as no kick-starter. But would presume would not run if low compression? This scooter was bought cheap so could be a few things but assume either airleak or wrong carb. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks

Are you the last survivor in the UK?
The virus has spread to Kansass. The zombies are walking around everywhere, coughing and hacking. Their skin has turned orange with white rings around their eyes.
Check to see what the carb is hitting with your eyeballs.
You can find air leaks with a little propane.
It is good that the engine is running with a bit of fuel, so the ignition and compression must be close to OK.
Now it is just a matter of finding out what is stopping fuel delivery by the carb.

The description leads me to think you may have a vacuum leak. That would possibly make the carb not draw fuel from the float bowl. Check with propane if you can for a vacuum leak, or inspect the 'boot' that the carb fits into for visible gaps or looseness. tom

Thanks tom and FrankenMech . I could not eyeball it back does not like bending low at the moment and I took the manifold off and compared it with pics of a 4t one and it is different. So I ordered one from ped parts uk. Whilst it was off stuck my thumb over the manifold and it sucked it in to make a seal so compression there which is a relief. No FrankenMech I am not the only survivor left unlike our esteemed leader of the blonde variety I think you have an orange one if I remember correctly, people and organisations are taking the initiative and doing what needs doing to combat the spread of the virus unlike the fat controller. But I won't go down that route I think they call it Bollotic@s

I can understand the bit about backs. You have that nice shop with a lift which might help. The fact that it does fire up and run for a second with fuel means the ignition and compression are probably OK. I just wrenched my wrist about carrying a 5 gallon bucket of water around. Old age sucks.

Thanks all for your help it was the wrong manifold which was to low not allowing the carb to sit properly

Some setups use a plastic spacer between the head and the manifold.
I think my right wrist is broken but the doctors only seem to see virus patients. I can just add it to the misery from my torn out right shoulder.

If its not one thing its another FrankenMech. They say it comes in threes so that must be 3 if you include the wiring job.
