My parents just got scheduled for Friday for their 1st dose. It's disappointing how seamless the system is not. They had to make multiple calls, multiple times. Signed up on multiple sites. Even then, they called to schedule my father and told him my mother was not registered. She's the one that registered both of them in every instance. Luckily, they let her schedule to get the vaccine at the same time anyway. We're prob the weird ones for sitting at home most of the time, quarantining mail, wiping everything down, washing groceries, hand sanitizing if we touch anything... My only argument is that if we are wrong and overdoing it; it won't hurt anyone. Possibly our own mental health and some dry skin, but that's about it. Sanity is overrated anyway. lol

Corn Husker lotion for dry skin on hands. Cheap and effective.

That seems a right mess Brent. My wife had her first dose of Oxford vaccine today. They have been very efficient in getting the vaccine out in Portsmouth. The government said they were starting the 65 to 69 age group this week, and my wife is 55. Well ahead of schedule here. My dad who is in his 70's had his first dose this week. He had to travel 25 miles to get it though. Both of ours were within a couple of miles.

They just sent out an automated msg to tell my parents that they didn't get the vaccine in so it's now postponed till next week.

i just had my second dose of vaccine shot today at noon (first covid vaccine shot of Pfizer was on 25 JAN 2021). had a little headache earlier (took tylenol), but no side-effects at all. The first shot was was barely noticeable, so actually looking forward to some kind of "physical effects" so i'll know i actually got the vaccine... heh.
I'm hoping we'll have mass availability soon and all yous youts are able to get these free vaccines and we could get back to "normal" sooner than lator...
Cheers!

No vaccine here yet, Kansass is all screwed up as usual, stupidity abounds. It is a Red state so nothing was done or planned and no vaccine is available even though I am 67 and have medical conditions. The Kansass government believes it is all some sort of conspiracy to implant trackers and alter our genetics

Geoff The next day I felt like 💩 the day after I was fine, apart from an ache in My shoulder for a week. My brother had nothing at all. My Mrs had her one yesterday. Today she is cold and aches all over. I guess everyone is different.

Just got the notice to get my jab from my hospital, scheduled for saturday. Will see how it goes. The actual appointment scheduling was a real f**ked up system.
They do want to 'observe' me for 15 minutes after, probably to see if I got a blue jab...
I can't see anything getting back to 'normal' for years yet. I was given a new bag of 50 masks by the health center. Apparently they have lots now, they are not N95 though. They are better than the ones I bought though. They have much better 'wire' to make a seal around the nose.

That's good news. They told me it takes about three weeks. Then it's 80% effective, till you have the second dose.

Paul, which jab did you get? I will probably get the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. I imagine every type is slightly different. None of them are 100% efficient so we still have to wear masks, probably for years. Even so we may have more pandemics, various diseases, just a consequence of our overpopulation, climate change driving population movement, and rapid transit systems. It looks like the masks shot the hell out of the flu this year, so they do help. Glasses help and I wear glasses. We will still probably look like 'sand people' for years or maybe forever.......
I do have those electrodes in my brain now, and I have broken my nose several times, maybe I should change my avatar...

I had the Oxford astrazeneca vaccine. I got offered the Pfizer one first. But because I have a history of anaphylactic shock, decided against it. My brother was supposed to have the Pfizer one. But as he is the same as me, they gave him the Oxford one too.

My parents just got their 1st doses of the Moderna vaccines this morning. They just took whatever was available first. They said it was surprisingly quick. They were also told to wait 15 minutes in another area before leaving, but no one monitored them or checked on them after getting vaccinated so that was basically done on the honor system.
