Hey guys. Got my roller weights, contra springs, and clutch springs. (Thanks for the help, your recommended dealers were fantastic, and the products you guys recommended are of great quality).
So ... any suggestions as to where I should start out? I put the 4g rollers in, and the engine seems to stay in high revs the whole way now, instead of crawling to the powerband. I know that when I put the contra spring in, it will probably change how my variator is working. Just looking for a generally good place to start.

Start with the lightest torque spring and work your way up. Is your motor stock 49cc? If so, and you got Carlos's springs the blue 1,000 is what i used when i was running the stock cylinder. Worked out well As for the clutch springs...Save yourself the time and just put the red 2,000 tight ones in. That will let it rev a bit more before the clutch kicks.

Yeah I'm all stock right now (Until I get my BBK and pipe!)
I got Carlos' springs, so I'll take your advice and go with the blue one.
As for saving myself the time with the clutch springs... what do you mean by that? Do these wear out eventually or are you saying that I will ultimately decide to go with the 2000 reds in the end?

The red 2000RPM clutch springs are pretty much what everyone uses in the stock minarelli clutch. They tend to give the best results. I agree on the blue contra spring as well. Tune your roller weights to suit after you get those installed.

thanks. quick question about roller weight tuning. Can i ride the scooter with the cvt cover off? it seems to me that the CVT cover gives the rear gear added strength, seems somewhat weak with out the cover on.

You can ride without the cover on. I test with the cover off when I'm tuning. I suggest making runs brief though. Also, make sure your rear brake cable is secure. Mine is secured by one of the bolts that holds on the cover. You could end up with a chewed up cable if you don;t make sure it's tucked away.

My setup is now
2000 rpm (Red) Clutch springs 1000 rpm (Blue) Contra Spring 5g Roller Weights.
I'm loving it. Much better pick up. Next purchase for it will be the BBK, then some jets and some reeds.
Brent - I think you may have your center stand removed? I dunno, but I would suggest NOT riding without the cover. It's not a big deal, but the center stand usually rests against the cover with a rubber roller. That roller was rolling against the belt. I also discovered that I've been riding with a loose variator. Remember that washer I was talking about in the picture diary I did? Well I realized, like it just clicked, that the washer wasn't inhibiting anything. I'm glad i noticed it before any damage was done. The washer made the outside edge of the variator exactly flush with the gears, allowing the 17mm outside bolt to tighten all the way against the variator. I was tightening against the gear notches on the shaft, leaving the variator loose and movable. Just a heads up to the next guy.
