Today we went for a cycle ride a bit more adventerous, I walked on the steep hill. My old smoker's lungs aint what they use to be and Yolanda cycled effortlessly with her electric motor but I still beat her after she got a puncture on her puncture proof tyres.

Well I can now cycle that damn hill without getting knackered out, I went into a friends shop for something and came out with a new folding electric bike Raleigh Stowaway it is. Damn folding pedal gave up the ghost this morning, looks like the marketing budget or whatever it was called was running out of buttons so the bean counters rummaged round the parts bit and found some really nasty cheap plastic things that fall apart. Reminds me of the late 60's early 70's when everyone use to say British Leyland cars wre parts bin specials lol. No big deal he did not have any steel folding pedals but I think I have some somewhere before I passed on the bicycle business to one of my lads about 8 yrs ago.

been looking for a mountain bike.... sheesh... there aren't any available!!! wtf is going on...?

Today as it is extremly wet I finished of a sons bike he gave me to sell a GT mountain bike and picked up a Trek 24 speed hybrid/MTB? Not sure which it is changed the brake blocks and got one suspension fork leg to unseize before I move that on.

Manufacturing and distribution is f**ked now and more people seem to be buying bikes.

Recycling/repairing bikes instead of just throwing them in the dumpster is better for everyone.

Nasty rusty chains and sprockets sure look bad. Normal chain lube is nasty and gets on everything. Have you guys tried Boeshield?

I have looked at bikes and the new ones seem to be a kluge of plastic non-standard parts and pure crap. What ever happened to a nice plain rugged and durable bike?

And even on the used market, they are ridiculously priced. It's more expensive than any scoots and even motorcycles for even a half decent mountain bikes! And if you don't go and buy within the hour, it's sold... At least that's how it is here in SW in the the states. $3,000 to $6,000 for used. Yes, used!

Maybe I can sell mine at silly prices. I have a couple of electric wheels to pick up and controlers and bits and bobs one's a 48v the other 36v for free. I will then make a couple up with those.
