The altornator kit seems legit but it only has 3 wires? Most scoots have a 4 or 5 wire harness for the stator. So obviously it doesent work it only connects to the yellow,white,(AC Power), and blue(sensor) wires so Im left with the red and green wire danngleing! from my harness. From what ive been reading and my own common sense the stock stator has 2 poles (the ones wraped in white tape) that connect to the red and green wires this bassicly powers my AC CDI and the NCY stator doesent have that. So if anyone knows what I can do to make this thing work? that would be awsome. sorry for shitty pic. [/IMG] Attachments:

I think it might be for scooters that use DC powered CDIs. I've never messed with a DC system, but I know normally the AC CDI uses the blue/white as a trigger and the red/black or whatever color that other loose wire is to send power to the CDI. The other 3 wires (white, yellow, green) are for the lighting/charging system and ground. A DC CDI wouldn't use a charging pulse from the stator/magneto, so it would only need the trigger signal from the blue/white wire. I'm guessing you could wire up a DC CDI if you want to stick with the NCY.

Pretty easy fix.
1. Buy and install a DC fired CDI 2. Hook up 12v switched on from the key to the empty side of the 2 prong connector that goes into the CDI. 3. Hook up the stator like normal just don't worry about hooking anything up to the black and red stripe wire.
Should be ready to go now with a lot of weight saved off the crank.

The "stuff" they don't tell you:
A little weight saved off of the end of the crank: good A LOT of weight saved off of the end of the crank: not so good
The "ideal" situation: equal amounts of weight on both ends of the crank.
Remove too much weight on one side and you will soon be looking to buy a crank.

please elaborate. i understand if we were talking about counter weights but anything after the bearings on either side really has no effect on balance.... i wouldnt think neways, could be wrong though :stumped:

They should go back to old school DC chargers were called generators and AC chargers are called alternators.

OK seems plausible, but after reading that wiki page it would seem like having less weight would mean less torsional stress because there is less mass which means less moment of inertia

Thanks!! :doh: I was thinking the same thing im gonna have to buy a DC CDI and wire it up. When I finnaly get around to it ill let everyone know how it works. Im hopeing it helps and its not a POS.
