OK so i line up the t with the timing mark on the flywheel, the cam holes all line up like they should. i go to measure the valve gap and there is like inches (yes inches!) of space between the adjustment screw and valve stem. what the hell did i do wrong? i closed the gap as far as i could and now it kinda wants to start if i give it full throttle. the gap is still huge though i can almost fit my finger between the valve and rocker arm. what gives??

That's a 64mm valve head with 69mm long valve rockers. You have to find the short rocker. Parts for scooter has them.
