Okay, I'll start by letting you guys know that my brother had a scooter a few years ago, and a big problem he had with it was the seat cracking around the bolts.
Now onto my issue... My top bolt holes in the seat are fine, they have washers. My lower bolt holes in the seat do not have washers, and I've noticed they are getting larger, like spreading. I take the seat off everytime I mess with the carb.. it just makes things easier. Have you guys tried using washers down there to spread out the pressure? I'm going to give it a shot. Thinking about the kind of washer that has a flange to fit inside the seat's hole, effectively creating a metal hole, reducing the wear on the plastic seat. Ideas?

Are you talking about the holes in the bottom of the seat tub?
Got a Pic?

I used fender washers on both sides of those holes. It seemed to help, but the accident finished mine off and cracked it all the way across.

Thats supposed to be bolted in ? J/K lol ....I do leave mine unbolted for rides when tuning the carb. When it is bolted down i use washers . It be cool to have some type of quick release for our seats.....

It be cool to have some type of quick release for our seats..... Hmm... I bet I could whip something up for a concept of that. I work on computers alot and you saying that makes me think of the way that alot of computer things are held on. Maybe come spring when I bring my scoot out of storage I can see if it works. But for now, I dont bother tightening any of those 4 bolts, I just use a deep-well socket connected to a extension and get them all finger tight. I carry alot of tools under my seat with me when I ride. Just in case, you know?

I'll get pictures soon, it's too cold.
Reign - Even though my scooter is pretty much new, I carry a good set of scooter specific tools. I'm actually going to do a write up on a good toolkit soon, too.
