if you take both setups on the exact same bike will they both have the same top speed? and also will the mhr variator be able to reach its top speed ''wondering because it says it is a high rev variator '' i have a 70cc malossi sport head and bought the mhr variator kit i know i will most likely have to remove the starter more than likely even though it does say ''THE NEW MHR MULTIVAR DOES NOT REQUIRE TO DO ANY MODIFICATION REPLACING THE ORIGINAL ONE'' thanks in advance Matt

Properly set up for full belt travel By removing starter .. You would get better top end since it is larger at 99 mm than Stock and the regular multi var.

At the end of the day, it's a variator. You will see some gains. But it's not going to make your scooter 10mph faster all of a sudden. The malossi sport is a relatively low rev cylinder kit. To go faster, you need to rev higher, or lower the revs by fitting a gear up kit.

matlock I noticed 2-4 mph with The Regular Multi Var on My set ups . aeroxbud is right Gears were the most bang for the buck mod after the pipe and bbk kit ,I added 6 mph + with those . You may have more room for adjusting without removing your starter with your Adly . The various motors have slight tweaks to the install instructions.
I kickstart all 3 of my scoots . The starter has a hard time turning over once the battery gets weaker .

''THE NEW MHR MULTIVAR DOES NOT REQUIRE TO DO ANY MODIFICATION REPLACING THE ORIGINAL ONE'' I think You are forgetting the Malossi MHR series is for racing. Yes people do use them on the road but that's not it's intended purpose. Racing scooters do not have starting gear, or centre stands! If you remove the starting gear you might have to change you roller weights to suit the lower rotational mass.

The normal Multivar will fit with no modification. like any other variator you might need to shim it for best results. It uses 16x13mm rollers probably the same.

Both the MHR and Multivar were 16X13 mm rollers I have both Kits . The Multi var you can keep your starter . Belts can be bought at Parts for Scooters in Various sizes I would try what you have first with shims before I would go up a belt size .
