Cripes man, you have it bad. I'm sorry. Just out of curiosity, did you leave the estart installed?

Yeah estart still there and semi functional.
Yesterday evening I had it running. Sitting still idling on the side stand. All of the sudden out of the blue the engine races and the bike launches itself like a clay pigeon. Oh shit, I jump and manage to grab the left bar and hit the kill switch. No big deal.
The intake clamp let go and the carb just vibrated out. Not a big issue, minor inconvenience. NOT. Something happened when the bike went AWOL like that.
I stood him back up, kicked it over after getting a new clamp and all was fine. Killed and walked away for maybe 20seconds before returning to grab so etjing from the seat bucket. When I opened the bucket I noticed SMOKE coming from the fuse.... Ripped the battery cable out of the connector trying g to get the battery out quickly.
CANNOT find a short anywhere. I'mma have to split the loom and look through wire by wire one at a time.
I did try to play around and see if a few things done had any affect. Well the instant the battery energized the system it starts to melt wires. I don't get it.
THIS BIKE IS CURSED. OR I AM ONE. I really hope it is just the bike....

Pay attention to the base gasket and crown heights too. I needed to use a thicker base to keep the piston flush at TDC. Even with the thicker gasket the crown is under the Ex at BDC.

Oh man. I know I need to go through this harness, I get that. I am terrified that I will find the problem, and fix it. Then discover my CDI is fucked. I do not have another one. I could have sworn I had an extra for Jr, but fuck me I guess.
In theory, I could take the stator from the Jog or Razz motor and try to make that work with it's own CDI. That sounds like pure hell to me. But the blue box that replaced the 100$ Eton unit is near impossible to find now.

CDI is fine!!!!! Found the wire that caused me all the problems it was a damn tail light wire.
Ended up installing a 110 main jet, #3 slide with what is claimed to be a 43I needle. Am having a bitch of a time setting the float, and she still randomly runs out of gas. Just long enough to make it noticeable, then back to running fine. No petcock, new filter good lines. Just cannot get by this issue. With a jet that big, I honestly expected to find a serious air leak somewhere but if it's there I can't find it with ether or a leak down test.
Haven't had it wot for longer than a few seconds yet, so no clue about top end speed. But the take off is a beast. This kit loves the bottom end of the power curve and will consistently pull the front wheel up. Even with the Polini kit on Jr. I was never able to get consistent wheelies..... And the sound. Even with a stock pipe it just sounds...pissed off!

2stroked,I am just checking was it the earth/ground wire to the tail light that caused the problem??. Geoff Nope. The keys hot for the lights. Battery in, key on = insta t smoke from several places. Still amazed I didn't toast the damn CDI with that one. I replaced the rear lights on the ETon with the lightd from the Razz, the tail light was just slightly different where it mattered, and caused the hot wire to wear through enough to make contact with the frame....

Did a top end test. 38mph..... I think there is more there, I've currently got a yellow contra spring in there and it feels like it's suffering from heat fade. I've got a gold Malossi (?) That's a bit tougher and then the blue and red that match the yellow, I will find one that keeps it in "low"long enough, but give me a solid "high" as well. Maybe.
The yellow (+1500 RPM) clutch springs are the shit for this set up, but that contra has me wanting more. There's more in this bike, I can feel it. I just need to find a way to unlock it. This kit loves to be just under ten grand, so I've gotta tune that cvt to match that....

And now, it is with a saddened heart, and pained soul I tell everyone the Beaten Eton is dead. Rod knock. Just three days after I started using Quicksilver synthetic oil. Same ratio, never felt any different. Hell I rode it to and from work today. But tonight when I pulled it in the garage I heard it. Loud and plain as day.
It's always something. I guess everyone gets shit thrown at them, But damnit I need a fuggin break. I loved riding g that little bike. That cylinder was perfect for a little cruiser type thing, and had lots of low down torque and take off power. Top end was decent too at 37-40 mph via GPS.
The way things look, the bike needs to be parked in storage, long term, because other pressing matters require all of my cash. Thanks for reading. Thanks for the support, the friendship. I'll still stop by occasionally, but won't be able to work on either of my bikes for quite some time.
Fuck my life.
