So my friend I traded scooter with just got hit. Shot both his femurs threw his skin. Blood every where,the cops say its his fault even though the kid in the car didn't have his blinker on. I'm so mad right now.

yeah its not looking to good for him. he may loose his leg left leg i think is completely shattered from the hip down right leg is marginally better. when to the crash site and there is blood everywhere. the scooter is salvageable if it has a new front end put on it but hell idk if he will ever want on it again. i would not blame him if he didn't.

<sigh> Sorry to hear about your friend and our fellow scooting brother. It's the harsh reality, folks. I've already lost a friend to the joys of motorcycling (he was on a Honda 600RR going waaaaaay to fast) but it hasn't turned me off it. We all just have to remain vigilant. No disrespect, but watching for already ignorant and clueless people to turn on their indicators is a waste of time. I never watch for brake lamps (people tend to brake far too late for my taste), indicators, opening doors etc. I just steer clear of every single vehicle, other motorcycles included, and keep my eyes well ahead of traffic. I don't take for granted that anybody will be kind enough to act responsibly.
That's probably not going to be enough every single time, but it's worked pretty well thus far.
My prayers are with your friend though, and I'm happy that he is still with us.

thanks everyone for the kind words ill pass them along to him tomorrow when i go check in on him. im honestly really glad that i traded him though if he had been on the 150cc he would be dead right now.

Damnitt man, a friend of mine lost his leg last yr and his ex carries a card showing she's half steel now.. I so hate to hear things like this...

Just cause one cop sees it one way doesn't mean a lawyer can't get a jury to see it another way. The cops are not judges. They don't decide outcomes. They just report.

as a newbie to the scoot thing i hate hearing things like this. i will say a prayer for your bud. when i got my scoot i made sure to buy the best protection i could afford(bright safety yellow motorcycle jacket with armour in elbows, shoulders, and back) and to always obey the posted speed limits and to have my head on a swivel! never take for granted the other guys intentions. I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN SAFETY! again my thoughts and prayers for his recovery.

Good news he gets to keep his leg, no infection or anything. also it turns out he only broke the one leg the other he just impaled on part of the scooter.
on a side note he is selling his scooter for 200.oo USD (i will assume if anyone form here buys it it is plus shipping unless you want to come pick it up). all it really needs to drive is a new fork. it could use new plastic or great for a naked scooter build.
