Anyone know how to remove the hand grips on 2008 Wildfire s2E? The end caps look spring loaded, but no clue how to remove. Want to get at the throttle housing. I called WF and the tech said something like they had to be cut off?!
Thanks in advance.

The left one will simply pull off. Grab it and twist it while you pull. The right one is a different story cause the plastic piece it slides onto is also the piece that actuates the throttle cable so if you tug on the grip you can damage that piece. The way I get them off is I take apart the switch assembly so you can get the grip away from the scooter and then I shove a small thin flat screwdriver down into the grip and squirt some dish soap in there. Then shove the screwdriver down in another spot and more soap etc til the grip will slide off the plastic insert. Or, you can simply cut the grips lengthwise with a utility knife and they will both come off in less than thirty seconds. If they are like these, then they are a little harder to remove unless you don't care if they are ruined. Cut 'em!

Thanks for the detailed response. Yes, they look like mine. So how does one take apart the switch assembly, please? I see two holes at the bottom. ? Suggestion for a vendor who sells replacements, other than WF?

The switch assy. has two screws on it facing the front of the scooter. The chrome end on the grip might unscrew if you twist it to the left. If it has a screw in the center then un screw the screw.

Found the screws~hidden by sleeve around mirror & found problem~one of the screws was missing, causing the assembly to wiggle. Added second screw, nice and tight now. So the grips can probably stay for now . Thanks to all for the help. Tech section is awesome.
