This is on a 49cc 2 stroke Geely scooter. It was giving to me without the fuel pump on it and i bought a new one and am confused. Any help would be great and pictures would be outstanding. Thank you very much

It's not really a fuel pump, it's a valve that opens when the engine is running due to vacuum. Then it closes when you shut off the engine. it has a spring and a rubber diaphragm inside that actuates it. The fuel simply gravity feeds to the carb. Look at the back side of the fuel valve. It should have a arrow indicating fuel flow direction or it'll say "in" and "out" One of the barbs on the valve is plugged off. Nothing hooks to it. There should be a fuel inlet on the carb and a vacuum port. If you post a picture of your carburetor it would make it easier.

@ Fastride: Welcome to the board. As Fox stated this thing isn't a fuel pump at all. It's just a vauum operated fuel valve. The correct name for it is a "vacuum petcock". All it does is shut off the fuel flow from the tank when the engine shuts down. Knowing the correct name for the various bits and pieces helps us to help you.

Once the photos are in your PB album, hover your mouse pointer over the thumbnail in your album and a few choices will drop down. Copy/paste the IMG code for each picture by clicking on it. It'll copy automatically then paste that code into a post and the pic will appear. For posting multiple pics in a single post, paste each pic's code on it's own line so they come out stacked on top of each other. If you have the forum open in one tab and PB in another tab then you can go back and forth between the two to copy/paste the code(s) in a post. FYI: I'm not the only person here. It's okay to leave my name out and ask everyone for help. There's lots of friendly folks here that are just as helpful.

Posting pictures isn't hard at all. The key to doing it is to first select a host site. I prefer to recommend a host site that does not require creating an account or signing in to one (adds too much time and complexity). Here's a list of those that are pretty good: tinypic.com/ (my favourite) imageshack.us/www.freeimagehosting.net/Let's take freeimagehosting.net as an example. First, go to the website and you will see a button named "BROWSE". You click that to select the pic you want to upload. You're limited to 3000kb with this site so be mindful. Assuming you're familiar with how to find and select the pic, do so and the "UPLOAD IMAGE" button on the site will become clickable. Click it. Another page will open with a small version of your pic to the left and four links to the right of it. The one you are looking for is the one at the bottom that's called "FORUM & MESSAGEBOARD LINK". It's already in a format that will work here on 49cc or any other forum for that matter. Double click on the link (to highlight it), then right click and "save". Next, open a new window or tab, head to 49ccscoot and start your thread. In the text window simple right click and "paste" and voila! The link to your pic will appear. You won't immediately see the pic, but the link will generate it, don't worry. NOTE: You have to repeat this process for each pic. You can't upload several pics en masse and then paste them en masse. (That's where having an account is better, but this way is less complicated to get started with). Good luck.
